This tone is pretty self-explanatory. Obviously a piece written in an urgent
tone will be… urgent. It will call for immediate action.
If you have ever heard or read a persuasive speech performed/written by
most authors, that final sentence or paragraph that gives you the essence of what the whole speech is about is written in
an urgent tone.
The purpose of this tone is to capture the attention of the audience to
a matter that is of importance to the author. With that, the author can engage his/her readers, a very beneficial tactic when
trying to persuade. Furthermore, a writer who employs urgency in his words will be viewed as one who can voice his beliefs,
thus building up his/her individual credibility.
